C3S soil moisture data used in European State of the Climate report 2018

The C3S soil moisture product generated by the TU Wien CLIMERS group in partnership with EODC and Vandersat has been used in the latest European State of the Climate report for 2018.

The data, generated from a range of active and passive microwave sensors, is available in Near Real Time (NRT) with new data available every 10 days. The data is available through the Copernicus Climate Data Store.

Within the European State of the Climate report for 2018, the C3S data is used to assess the the changes in soil moisture over 2018 compared to a reference climatological period of 1991 to 2010. The data is specifically used in the asssessment of wet and dry conditions and in the assessment of the vegetation and land surface.
