Workshop goal is to identify status and trends in high resolution image matching of aerial imagery and to give recommendations to developers from the users (NMCA) point of view as well as to EuroSDR for project steering.
Benchmarking of different approaches for the generation of high resolution digital surface models is necessary for NMCAs and developers alike, showing the strengths and weakness of different approaches and the possibility for integration into a processing workflow.
Audience
The workshop addresses practicioners, scientists, and photogrammetric software companies. These are especially
National and regional mapping agencies, engaged in capturing, generation, and processing of digital topographic data, more specifically digital surface and terrain models.
Reserchers working on high density matching algorithms with an interest in benchmarking the performance of their algorithms in the application domain of NMCAs
Developers and product managers of photogrammetric software for DSM generation from aerial imagery
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the underlying principles of dense matching algorithms, and understand their typical output and performance. This will enable them to evaluate different approaches and judge their suitability with respect to requirements on digital topographic data.
Social Program
On February 16, participants are invited to the workshop dinner.
Accomodation
We advise workshop participants to stay at the Hotel Nestroy, located within walking distance (<15 min) from the workshop venue. Booking code "EuroSDR". A contingent of rooms has been reserved until January 30th, 2012.
